    A comparison of two similar mollusks with a focus on how they achieve buoyancy. The shells are drawn in graphite and the poster is completed in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Ammonite Fossil

    This is the detail of the ammonite fossil at the top of the previous poster. It is from Sucia Island State Park, which is one of my favorite places in Washington. The fossil is part of the collection at The Burke Museum at the University of Washington measures about 7 inches across. Drawn in graphite pencil

  • The Armadillo

    This is a composite image of three colored pencil drawings (the armadillo, the skeleton, the leg muscles) merged together in Adobe Illustrator. The project involved connecting with armadillo researchers in South America and the United States and even required unearthing reference drawings from the 1700's and 1800's.

    The moon snail painting is the first in a series for Harbor WildWatch, which is an environmental education non-profit in Gig Harbor, Washington. The series is the top-ten animals that are gathered for their touch tanks at the beach. Currently, I am working on an Opalescent Nudibranch painting. Watercolor
